It's been a few months since our last update, but things haven't slowed down at the shed. We have brought in a few more financial members, we are up to 64 paid up 'shedders'.
There has been a couple of community boot sales that have been held on the grass out the front of the shed, and the shed volunteers have run a sausage sizzle on both occasions, and we've managed to sell a bunch of extra equipment that we had, as well as come woodwork and metal work projects the workshops have put out.
It's been great to be asked to get involved with a few community projects. The Mooloolah IGA has engaged the shed to build some new benches for out the front of the supermarket. The Sippy Downs animal shelter has got us refurbishing the pet donation bins that go outside the White's IGAs across the Sunny Coast. And the Mooloolah State School has got us building a robotics table for the after-school robotics club.
The music group continues to meet on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at 3pm, so if you're musically inclined and want to join a bunch of old farts having a crack at a few songs, please come along.

The Mooloolah Community Men's Shed has been a hive of activity recently, with members showcasing their skills and producing a wide range of items. Both the wood and metal workshops have been operating at full capacity, testament to the dedication and creativity of the shed's members.
The wood workshop has seen a flurry of projects, including the creation of beautiful end-grain breadboards, perfect for showcasing culinary creations. Members have also been busy crafting fun and functional golf putting games, ideal for backyard entertainment, and even producing several snag holders for upcoming Bunnings sausage sizzles.
Meanwhile, the metal workshop has been equally busy. Members have been manufacturing various items for the shed itself, improving its functionality and efficiency. Alongside these internal projects, and numerous personal projects, the plasma cutter and welders have been getting a thorough workout.
The skills and dedication of the Men's Shed members have extended beyond the shed walls. A group of members are engaged in a significant project for the local community, fabricating stair railings for the Mooloolah Community Centre. In addition, several members have completed some odd Jobs, fixing various items for members of our community, showcasing the practical skills and community spirit within the shed.

The Men’s Shed is back in action for the new year! It’s been a long and challenging journey, but we’re excited to announce that the woodwork area is now open. This means all our work areas are fully operational. However, the shed is far from complete—we see it as a continuous work in progress, with ongoing efforts to make improvements.
A big thank-you goes out to everyone who contributed to getting the shed up and running, but we’d like to give special recognition to Neil and Pete. Their dedication and hard work have been instrumental in bringing us to this point. Thanks, guys!
It’s been fantastic to see members using the new machinery and equipment. Some recent projects include repairing furniture, creating end-grain breadboards, fabricating metalwork items, engraving and cutting with the laser CNC machine, and plenty of knife sharpening—just to name a few!
We look forward to welcoming back all our returning members and are excited to meet any new men who are interested in joining. There’s always something to do, and we’d love to have you be a part of it!
